ELECTRIC SUPERMOTO
Are electric bikes the future of urban motorcycling? If that’s the case, then Zero’s new 2017 line up of bikes, including the FXS Supermoto shown above, may give us a small glimpse of this future. Zero have updated their model range with a new 2017 Z-Force powertrain that delivers up to 19% more torque and 11% more power. The 2017 Zero FXS’s motor is now rated at 106 Nm of torque, up to 33 kW of power, and the bike weighs just 135 kg. Setup is a supermoto configuration with 17 inch wheels and Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres, including ABS, fully adjustable suspension, and aggressive looking dual projector beam headlights. Running costs are low with a maintenance-free powertrain and on-roads costs of around a few cents (USD) in electricity for each kilometre travelled.
