A tiny hand pump water filter, the MSR TrailShot is a take-it-anywhere-pocket-sized water filter. New for 2017, and designed for trail walkers/runners, this filter unit will let you drink from most water sources as you hike the backcountry or travel through countries where drinkable water is not readily available. The MSR TrailShot can filter one litre of water in a minute to “U.S. EPA drinking water standards and NSF protocol P231 for removal of bacteria (99.9999%), protozoa (99.9%), and particulates.” It weighs only 142 g (5 oz.) and can be easily cleaned, even when you're on the trail.
