NEW SIGMA FOVEON COMPACT CAMERA
Travel photography with a small compact camera was big 10 years ago. In recent times, DSLR and mirror-less cameras, along with cameras in cell phones, have pushed aside the compact. Nevertheless, with a strong cult following, Sigma have recently announced a new Foveon X3 sensor based camera, the DP3 Merrill. With a fixed 50mm f2.8 lens, the portrait length lens on this APS-C sized sensor should appeal to travel photographers with an interest in street photography. Motorcyclists with knowledge of the mighty Foveon sensor might like to keep an eye out for reviews on the new Sigma digital compact.
