There are many reasons why riders prefer one helmet over another. Style, comfort, road or off-road, technical design and band loyalty may all influence the decision. But sometimes history is a factor. Bell’s Custom 500 is a 2013 version of the original founder, Roy Richter’s, 1954 classic fiberglass helmet. Although this model may look like it’s from the 1950s, it is constructed with modern materials, is safety certified and, well, looks cool. Buy this helmet then look for a bike to match; a seventies era modified CB400F cafe racer might do the job.
