With their history in the GPS technology industry, it is not unexpected that they would release a sat phone. The SPOT Global Phone is a relatively small unit, weighing 201g with a lithium-ion battery providing 4 hours of talk time or 36 hours standby. Along with standard phone and text features, SPOT provide an optional data kit that allows internet and email use.
