If you’re looking for a rugged, almost bomb-proof video camera to record your adventure rides, the newly released JVC GZ-R70 Rugged Camera is a serious option. With IPX8 certified water and IP5X certified dust resistance (i.e. water resistance to a depth of 5m/16.4ft, the ability to withstand a drop from 1.5m/4.9ft, as well as dust-proof and freeze-proof down to –10˚C/14˚F), this camera is designed to handle extreme environments while recording full 1080p HD video to internal memory or memory card. Other features include a 40x optical zoom image stabilised lens, an internal battery providing 4.5 hours of running time with the option to power the camera with a compatible third-party portable battery, 10 Megapixel still photos and time-lapse recording mode. Available as two model configurations from April 2014.
