Here’s a stove cooker for the old-school hiker. Made by Optimus and based on a design nearly a century old, the Svea Stove is considered a classic with performance characteristics and functionality that has had it in “light-and-fast climbers’ and alpinists’ gear bags for decades.” The cooker unit is made from solid brass and the stove’s protective lid functions as a cooking pot. In the spirit of lightweight and multi-functional design, the stove's handle also serves as a maintenance tool. Powered by white gas, the Svea weighs 550 grams (19.4 ounces) and can boil one litre of water in approximately seven minutes, depending on altitude and weather/climate conditions.
