Most long distance, overland riders modify their bike to add addition range, comfort, and performance. If you’re after an ADV factory African Twin, the new 2018 Honda CRF1000L Adventure Sports model may have most of the extras you need, already fitted to your preferred bike. Honda have made this new model “taller, with a flatter seat profile and more upright riding position. The fairing and screen offer more wind protection and a large sump guard and side pipe fully protect the machine. An extra 5.4L fuel capacity extends range beyond 500km, while heated grips and an AC charging socket add comfort and convenience.” Other changes include minor engine upgrades for better mid-range performance, a new exhaust, a new Throttle-By-Wire (TBW) system, auto-cancel indicators, and the rear indicators are fitted with a hazard lights flash, Emergency Stop Signal function.
