By definition a shipping container is transportable. And plenty of people have converted one into a house. Now an Australian company has an innovate shipping container design. With a modular, pop-out arrangement, the G-Pod Portable Building has pull-out sections and a front fold-down deck that’s covered, expanding the building’s floor area to nearly 3 times its original size. The unit is built out of standard size shipping containers, globally transportable, and can be set-up or packed-up in just a few hours, operating off-grid and without mains water if needed.
